Porter and Lawler Model
Lyman W. Porter and Edward E. Lawler developed a more complete version of motivation depending upon expectancy theory of Vroom (see topic list for details) . Porter-Lawler Model suggests that levels of motivation are based more on the value that individuals place on the reward. The components that effect motivation are called valence (whatΥs important to oneself) and expectancy (can one do it) .
