- The most important theory of Popper՚s philosophy is the Falsification theory.
- The theory proposes that for anything to be scientific at all, it needs to be proven false.
- In other words, if things can be shown false then they can be regarded as scientific or they can be used in scientific inquiry.
- The theory of falsification is regarded as the cornerstone of his scientific epistemology or theory of Knowledge.
- In other words, according to him, regarding a theory as scientific when it cannot be falsified is pseudo-science.
- So, in that sense, falsification is a way to distinguish science from pseudo-science.
