  • There are certain adjudication proceedings to be conducted by several administrative agencies and officers. For instance, under the provisions of the Central Excise Act, The Finance Act, and the Customs Act; the customs officers and other officers under these acts need to decide the contravention of certain provisions of the acts. Search decisions involve imposing a penalty on the persons who are said to be involved in contravening such provisions. It is in these kinds of proceedings that the principles of natural justice come into play.
