There are many minerals found in seawater in dissolved state. 85% of sea salts are made of sodium and chlorides. Gold concentration is around 60 mg per ton of seawater. Seawater is indeed inexhaustible source of metals and minerals. Minerals are found in following kinds of sea deposits.
Surface Deposits: These minerals are found in continental shelf and slope regions.
- Zircon, monazite, rutile are found in Western India, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and USA.
