Trewartha՚s Classification

Trewartha gave a highly modified climatic classification, which is most widely accepted classification scheme of Koppen. He used two most basic weather elements, i.e.. , temperature and precipitation to form basis for his classification. This system is simple and explanatory, and combines fundamentals of empirical and genetic classification schemes.

Spatial Synoptic Classification System (SSC)

It is based upon the Bergeron classification scheme. There are six categories within the SSC scheme: dry polar (continental polar) , dry moderate (maritime superior) , dry tropical (continental tropical) , moist polar (maritime polar) , moist moderate (between maritime polar and maritime tropical) , and moist tropical (maritime tropical, maritime monsoon, or maritime equatorial) .
