Some Facts About the Canterbury Tales
- The Canterbury Tales (1387 - 88) is the landmark work of Chaucer.
- It is a collection of 24 stories that runs to over 17,000 lines (23 were completed, and one was partially finished) .
- The Decameron by Giovanni Boccaccio is the model for The Canterbury Tales.
- It deals with the pilgrims who are going to pay a visit to the tomb of Thomas Becket at Canterbury.
- Harry Bailey, the Host of the inn agrees to go along with the pilgrims and act as the master of ceremonies.
