Smita was given three liquids. She was asked to identify the liquids by testing their burning capacity. She took the liquids in different china dishes and marked them as A, B and C. Brought them near the flame of a candle. The observation is as follows

  • The liquid in A was highly inflammable. Immediately it caught fire and within a very short time the liquid disappeared.
  • B took little time and the flame spread into the dish and after some time the liquid disappeared leaving the dish sticky.
