IAS (Admin.) Prelims CSAT Paper-II (Aptitude): Questions 1 of 405
Appeared in Year: 2016
Five people A, B, C, D and E are seated about a round table. Every chair is spaced equidistant from adjacent chairs.
(i) C is seated next to A
(ii) A is seated two seats from D
(iii) B is not seated next to A
On the basis of above information, which of the following must be true?
1. D is seated next to B
2. E is seated next to A
3. D and C are separated by two seats
Select the correct answer using the code given below:
1 and 2 only
Neither 1 nor 2 nor 3
In this question, A is seated next to C.
B is not seated next to A. As on one side C is seated the other side we keep empty for now.
Thus B can be seated in either of the chairs that are not adjacent to A.
Also D is seated 2 seats away frm A. In a similar fashin to B, D cannot be adjacent to A.
Thus the seat next to A is occupied by E.
Also the other two chairs are occupied either by B or by D. We are not sure of that.
E is seated next to A
B/D are seated next to each other.
Thus option B is correct.
