It is the earliest of all models and acquired great prominence in initial days but slowly receded back against the humanistic and mechanical models. However, with advancement of neurological sciences this model gained prominence again.

Organic model describes man as an organism with the following properties

  • Has growth, life or development cycle
  • Has the ability to adapt, learn, and evolve
  • Has emergent behavior
  • Undergoes steady change or growth (as opposed to instant change)
  • Has regulatory feedback
