  • Sher Shah Suri has established Sur Empire in India which was ephemeral. Sher Shah, the arch-rival of Sher Shah died in 1545 and after him, his son Islam Shah had assumed the throne.
  • Islam Shah successfully ruled the empire for about 8 years but he died on 30th October 1553, after which, discontent between the Afghans started to grow rapidly, and a civil war broke out among the throne՚s claimants. He was an inefficient and incapable ruler. He was an individual looking for fun and he left the empire՚s burden in the hands of his Hindu brother, Hemu, and retired to Chunar.
