Background between Afghans and Mughals

  • The Afghans were the Mughals ′ biggest enemies and on the eve of Babur ′ s conquest of India, when the Mughals invaded India, they first had to wage war on the Afghans who ruled over India. Undoubtedly, in the battles of Ghaghara (A. D. 1529) and Panipat (A. D. 1526) , Afghans were defeated by Babur. But they were not completely crushed, and thus continued their efforts to restore Afghan rule in India.
  • In actual, Afghans were looking for a leader who could unite them as a national power and they found these qualities in Sher Shah. He added new spirit and vigor in the Afghans. Under him, Afghans ousted the Mughals from India.
