  • In India, the Buddhism began to degenerate. Buddha and Budhisattavas sculptures were very popular, and they were placed in their temples. Buddhist monks preached non-resistance and non-violence teachings that made people even in self-defense non-aggressive. As Buddhism was forced out of India, the Hindu community established their own gods and goddesses and started to worship the icons of stone.
  • The caste system has over-ridden the Hindu community. Religion was the rights of just the Brahmans, considered the upper class. The Untouchables had been named the lowest of the lowest class. A brush or even a shadow of such untouchables seemed to contaminate the higher class.
