Thornthwaite՚s Classification
C. W. Thornthwaite and his associates attempted to formulate water budget technique to assess water demand under varied environmental conditions. This classification resembles Koppen՚s combinations of letters used to designate individual climates. This classification uses plant response integrated with climatic elements. He classified climate in 1931 and then again in 1948.
