Origin of Green Revolution

Between 1940՚s to 1970՚s, green revolution happened through a series of research, development, and technology transfers that increased agriculture production worldwide, mainly in late 1960՚s. In 1950՚s, new varieties of wheat were first bred in Mexico. New varieties of rice, like IR-8 (miracle rice) were developed at International Rice Research Institute Philippines in 1960՚s.
