Ratio of agricultural outputs to inputs is called agricultural productivity. It is hard to measure overall agricultural output. Output is typically measured as market value of final output, excluding intermediate products and is compared to various inputs like labor and land. Partial measures of productivity are also used, for example, yield per unit area. Agricultural productivity depends on the physical (relief, climate, soils, and water) , socio-economic, institutional, organizational, and cultural factors, and the managerial skills of the farmer.
