A central force stored in minds of human which must be given a space to be expressed.


The mind feels that it cannot fulfill a wish and works for the other so as to fill the gap, the not working of first thought causes.

Counter transference

The way in which a therapist consoles and tries to drive his unconscious feelings or wishes into the mind of the patient.

Defense mechanism

These are those responses through which a mind tries to protect itself from when he is unable to prove, believe or get something. It acts as a shield to protect the ego. The following are defense mechanisms:


The mind shifts unacceptable feeling or actions to a less threatening recipient.


These are that part of the mind which it want the body to fulfill and express for him but is not able to work out due to certain reasons. Freud called dreams the “royal road to the unconscious” and saw them as very valuable for analysts. Manifest content (the actual of the dream) provides information about intent content (the unconscious forces the dreams are trying to express).
