Citta means mind
vritti means modifications, changes, fluctuations.
Now, the philosophy explains that citta vritti nirodha is possible which means the possibility of the elimination (nirodha) of the mind chatter/fluctuations (citta vritti)
Yoga basically teaches to control and also eliminates the fluctuations, the chatter which is present in the mind
