Question: In yoga school. . yogas chitta vritti nirodha is the patanjali defination of yoga. please explain what is chitta and vritti?

Answer:

Citta means mind

vritti means modifications, changes, fluctuations.

Now, the philosophy explains that citta vritti nirodha is possible which means the possibility of the elimination (nirodha) of the mind chatter/fluctuations (citta vritti)

Yoga basically teaches to control and also eliminates the fluctuations, the chatter which is present in the mind
