Principles of Motivation
Motivation utilizes certain basic principles:

What is Motivation?
- Motivation can be defined as the processes that account for individual’s intensity, direction and persistence of effort towards attaining a goal. Motivation causes us to take action rather than just thinking.
- A person, when motivated acts upon all his forces as biological, emotional, social and cognitive to achieve the goal.
Drive Theory of Motivation
People take certain actions or do some work to satisfy the internal tension that they are suffering from. This theory is generally used to satisfy biological demands as thirst and hunger. When we feel thirsty, we are motivated to get up and go to water place to drink it. However, limitation of this theory is that sometimes people even eat when they are not hungry which means, that not always this theory is applicable to satisfy biological needs.
