Habeas corpus

It is an order to present a person before a court.

Harmless error

An error of the court during trial which was not so severe as to affect the final judgement of trial.


A brief summary of the case and its facts along with the rules applicable to it.


A less formal proceeding with facts and laws to be heard. This is used by legislative and administrative agencies.


Statements by a witness who heard about the incident from a third party. Usually it is not permissible.
