Hermann Ebbinghaus

Hermann Ebbinghaus was the first to study memory systematically. He presented forgetting curves which showed a drop when the subject tried to save it. For this, he presented nonsense syllables to individuals. But he was criticized saying that subjects with lists of nonsense syllables to study the STM.
